I led the definition of iYarn's product strategy and go-to-market, collaborating closely with the founder to create a platform focused on improving personal wellbeing and team engagement, initially targeted at employee engagement programs. iYarn's innovative approach was validated by winning the "Most Creative Solution" award at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) AI Innovation Startup Challenge.
The iYarn project emerged from the desire to create a tool that facilitates self-reflection, goal setting, and connection, drawing inspiration from the storytelling traditions of the Western Kimberley Saltwater people of Australia. This cultural connection is reflected in the brand's colors and overall design aesthetic.
My involvement centered on defining and validating a lean MVP from the ground up. This required a deep understanding of user needs and the ability to translate them into a compelling user experience. We prioritized agile development and iterative improvements, allowing us to quickly build, test, and refine the platform based on user feedback.
The core value proposition of iYarn revolves around enabling users to track their progress in various areas of their personal and professional lives. This includes reflecting on their current state, setting goals, taking action to achieve those goals, and learning from their progress over time. The platform also facilitates sharing and conversation, encouraging users to connect with others and build stronger relationships.
Our initial go-to-market strategy focused on employee engagement programs. iYarn could be a powerful tool for organizations looking to improve employee wellbeing, foster team cohesion, and enhance overall performance. The platform's enterprise features include tools for defining personalized segments for teams, providing individual team members with a private app for self-reflection, and offering visual dashboards to analyze anonymized team results.
The lean MVP approach enabled a rapid launch, allowing the founders to secure first corporate clients and gain valuable feedbac to establish a solid foundation for future growth. iYarn's innovative approach was further validated by winning the "Most Creative Solution" award at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) AI Innovation Startup Challenge – ANZ in Sydney!
